Reflections for Local Methodists

Stewardship is a Christian charity which supports churches and charities in their fundraising and administration. They have recently released results of a detailed survey of charitable giving by Christians.
In a context where lack of income regularly feels a limiting factor to our mission and ministry, their key findings seem relevant and thought provoking for us.

Key findings

• Regular church attendance more than doubles propensity to give
• Personal appeals are more effective at inspiring spontaneous charitable giving
• Key drivers for giving are seeing the difference donations make and trusting the causes receiving them
• Those who discuss their giving tend to give more
