Part 11 of the Constitutional Practice and Discipline of the Methodist Church (CPD) covers the Complaints and Discipline process. Through it, members of the Methodist Church are accountable to the Church in matters of faith and behaviour.
Anyone can make a complaint about a member of the Methodist Church, whether they are lay, ordained, and/or hold an office within the Church. The process works within the guidelines of confidentiality to ensure that only those who need to know about the complaint are informed.
A complaint is raised by completing the form below and sending it to the District Resolution Officer (DRO) who will determine if they feel it can be resolved through an informal resolution process. If this is not the case, it then will enter the Part 11 formal process.
The District Resolution Officer (DRO) is Agnes Tranter. She will generally be the first point of contact for information about the process and can offer guidance on the procedure. She can be contacted via email at ajtranter10@gmail.com
Should Agnes not be available, our second DRO is the Revd Mark Carrick who can be contacted by email at mark.carrick@methodist.org.uk
Further information about the process can be found on the Methodist Church website: https://www.methodist.org.uk/for-churches/governance/complaints-and-discipline/
