Representative Synod – Spring 2022

Sheffield District Spring Synod 2022

Saturday 2 April – 9:30 start

Everyone has a story to tell, learn how to share yours!

We are delighted to be returning to Cliff College for our next District Representative Synod.

Sharing Stories of God at work in our lives is a life-giving part of flourishing Christian communities. Yet our churches so often lack confidence or imperative to share. We will explore the impacts of telling and listening to stories, and try out a range of ways to get started. As well as our usual synod business, overseeing the life of our District.

Worship will be led by Revd Ashley Cooper and the students at Cliff College, Holly Adams, Evangelism and Contemporary Culture Officer from the Evangelism & Growth team will be the keynote speaker, and we will also be joined by Paul Cookson, a poet and performer who has written a poem a day (sometimes more) since the start of the Covid epidemic.

In the afternoon there will be there will be 5 workshops exploring this theme further:-

  • Crafting your Story with Anna Bland (Leeds Sanctuary)
  • Stories for Everyday Discipleship with Andrew Goldsmith (LICC)
  • Pen to Paper with Paul Cookson
  • Digital Story Telling with Sam Roberts, District Communications Officer.
