Our next District Gathering will be on the theme of Courageous Conversations: Listening to and working with your community.
Everyone is welcome to this free event, whether you are coming for the first time, have attended previous District Gatherings, or are a member of our synod.
Join us for a day of learning, sharing and worship with a buffet lunch provided as we offer an opportunity to renew existing connections across our District and meet new people.
Our morning session will be led by the District Chair – Revd Vicky Atkins, and Mark North, the Sheffield District Faith Rooted Community Organising Lead. There will be a focused session in the morning exploring why Faith Rooted Community Organising matters now, followed by a variety of activities that we hope will model different ways in which you might like to try within your own community.
The afternoon will hear more about The Art of Welcome, a follow-up to the Faith over Fear Sundays, as well as more chances to have conversations within circuit groups on what the next steps might be.
Within the District Gathering we will hold the life of Methodism across our district in prayer, renew our relationship with our wider Connexional church, and make any formal decisions required of us as a district – the work of the representative synod.
Registration will close on MONDAY 6 April at noon – please contact the District Office (admin@sheffieldmethodist.org) after this date.
Greenhill Methodist Church has a small car park, with priority going to those who require parking close to the venue. Please share lifts where possible to reduce carbon footprint. It is about four miles from Sheffield town centre, and is a short walk from the bus stop on Greenhill Main Road/Parkway, and about a 10 minute walk from Meadowhead bus stops.
