Young people from across our District had a great time at 3Generate this year.
More than 21 young people and 10 leaders from Barnsley, Doncaster & Sheffield Circuits travelled to Birmingham for the weekend at the end of October to take part in 3Generate, the children and youth assembly of the Methodist Church.
They all camped inside the NEC in Birmingham and spent their time worshipping, playing, talking, acting, preaching, praying and much more.
The theme for this year's 3Generate was "intune" so all those who attended took time to discover how to be in tune with God, with each other, and their families and friends back home.
Some of the feedback back given by the young people is inspiring, they are now intending to talk to their Circuits about the environment, equality for all & inclusion in church for LGBTQI.
"3Gen was fun because I liked the escape room where we solved an environmental issue and the health and wellbeing centre"
"I like 3Gen because the activities were fun and everyone was nice."
"3Gen was fund because there was lots of different activities and it was not just about God all the time"
Victoria Loveday, District Children's and Youth Coordinator said: "It's brilliant 3Generate was able to take place in person this year. Our young people have missed out on so much and to be able to gather with others from around the Methodist Connexion and have lots of fun is amazing. The weekend was action packed, but also allowed time for reflection, prayer, teaching and becoming more 'intune' with God, themselves and others. We can't wait to see what our young people now do with their inspirational visions for the future."
Elections for the roles representing children and young people through 3Generate open on Monday 22nd November. Watch out for more information.
