The Hub at Hope Offers Work Placements to Cliff College Students

The Hub at Hope is offering Cliff College students a chance to experience first hand what pioneering ministry is all about as part of their Mission and Evangelism Placement.

Two first year students Evie and Rebecca are studying Theology and Mission at the College and have spent two weeks working with Pioneer Minister Jonathan Brook and the team at Hope.

The students have been out on the streets in Bakewell offering prayer as part of Healing on the Streets, they have helped and supported at the youth club and visited other churches in the Peak Circuit.

Evie said: "It's been great to see we can do church in different ways, and it's been good to put things into practise which we have learnt in the lecture rooms at College."

Rebecca added: "The Hub isn't a traditional church, similar to my church at home, and it's been great to see so many different ways we can connect to people in the community."

Jonathan Brook, Pioneer Minister, said: "It's been a pleasure to have the students working at The Hub. We have tried to offer them as many real-life experiences of what ministry is all about, from offering prayer on the streets to cleaning the chapel, they are all important jobs and allow us to serve the community."

Ali Johnson, Mission and Evangelism Placement Coordinator at Cliff College: said: "We're grateful to the Hub at Hope for offering our students this opportunity. It's great to be able to partner with and support local churches and projects, and for our students to be able to take the learning they've done in the classroom into real-world contexts."
