Positively Rural are running a series of webinars on aspects of rural homelessness.
The first was held on 3rd July and looked at the provision of affordable housing, or local needs housing for those who live in our rural communities. You can watch the recording here: A place called home?
In this session, we were joined by Carin Tunaker from the University of Kent and the lead author of the Rural Homelessness report 2023 ; Jo Couch, church administrator at Saltash on their experiences with homeless in the south west; and Keith Smith from the Ferry Project at Wisbech which provides more than just housing for the homeless.
You can watch the presentations again here: https://youtu.be/iCVUYWa_7VE?si=AbJq9XHCK9nRlKpG
The PowerPoint slides from Carin's research and Keith's presentation can be downloaded from this page as PDF files. You can read some of the "chat" that was shared during the meeting. There is also a copy of the Covenant between Cornwall's faith communities and the council.
