Ministerial Sabbaticals – Revd. Liz Wills

As District Sabbaticals Officer I act as convenor for the District Sabbaticals Panel and, with the members of this group, am responsible for considering and approving sabbatical plans and arrangements for presbyters and deacons, in accordance with Methodist standing orders.

We encourage ministers to see their sabbaticals as a gift which enables them to re-engage with their original calling from God and to develop and grow in ministry through reflection, study and recreation.

Critical in this process is the role of Local Sabbatical Support Groups, who support the ministers' families and local churches/circuits during the period of the sabbaticals. We are accountable to Synod via the District Leadership Team.
