Manor Church and Community Project Celebration Event

Over 100 people joined in the Manor Church and Community Project’s celebration event on Sunday 24th September at the Temple Park Centre in Sheffield.

The event was to mark the completion of all the major refurbishment work on the building and a celebration of all it offers to the local community.

The Centre was buzzing with great conversation plus lots of entertainment as people enjoyed activities, crafts, workshops, live music and displays including drumming with Steel City Choristers, music from Portal Hopper, songs from Forget-me-not Community Choir, a dance display from Pinders Dance Productions and a fire engine too. Refreshments, cakes and hot dogs where offered throughout the day as well as tours of the building.

Manor Church and Community Projects is an ecumenical charity which works in Manor and Castle, the most deprived ward in the city of Sheffield. Its aim is to bring about social justice by creating an inclusive, welcoming and flexible environment in which community can be built the thrive. Working in and beyond the Temple Park Centre the project has for eight years worked in the heart of the community it serves to tackle essential needs.

District and circuit grants have helped the trustees appoint a new Community Cohesion and Outreach Worker, Lisa, to build on work already ongoing and to begin to develop new forms of church and worship for local people.
