Peak Park Rural Development Enabler

A new project was established at the beginning of 2013 to run initially for 5 years.  This is a unique project not only because it’s a cooperative venture between three local Districts (Sheffield, Manchester & Stockport, and Nottingham & Derby) but because it’s centred on a National Park.

Autumn Synod 2014

The Autumn 2014 Synod was an opportunity to meet with colleagues across the District and to engage in conversations about how we engage with the younger members of our churches and to start to look at taking the bible seriously.

Spring Synod 2014

Spring Synod 2014 was held at Trinity Academy, Thorne, in the Doncaster Circuit. The framework for the whole day was based around a service of Holy Communion, written by Rev Joyce Barrass.

District Synod

The District Synod meets twice a year – a morning meeting in the autumn and a longer one in the spring. The venue moves around the District, with each Circuit taking it in turns to act as hosts.

Fairtrade District

In 2012 Sheffield District became an official Fairtrade District with over half the churches in the District becoming “Fair Trade” churches.
However, we don’t want to stop there – ideally we would like 100% of the Methodist churches in our District to be Fairtrade.
