"The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ." Amen (Ephesians 4: 11-13)

God of love, help us by your grace to give priority in the Church to those things which build up our common life and equip us to be your people in the world. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

In North Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, in city, town and village, the people of the Sheffield Methodist District seek to be faithful to the gospel in their place.

The work of our District staff

Our Training and Development Officers in the Yorkshire Region, Caroline Riley and Viv Morrissey.
Our Evangelism Enabler , Susanna Brookes.
Our Administrative Assistant, Anne Hutton.

Please pray for:

All who carry responsibility in our Churches, in our Circuits and in the District as we endeavour to respond faithfully to the changes required of us by the Methodist Conference.
The piloting of the new Annual Development Reviews for ordained people in two of our Circuits.
The preparing for additional responsibilities in relation to property consents and grant-making.
The preparing for the start of Extending Discipleship, Exploring Vocation, which encourages each of us to explore our vocation.
The supporting of our Circuit and Churches as together we work on a process of reviewing every area of our Church life, including the shape and number of our Circuits.

God of the future, we seek your blessing as we live through a period of great change in the Church. Please help us never to lose sight of the gospel of your love in Christ and your mission to share that love in all the world. Amen.
