"And Elisha prayed, 'O Lord, open his eyes so that he may see.' Then the lord opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha." (1 Kings 6:17)

We offer you our praise, Lord God, for you have made yourself known, through the creation around us, through your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the experience of that great crowd of witnesses who surround us from the present and the past, inspired by your living Spirit. Open our eyes that we might see you today. Amen.

The last year has seen a lot of changes: Changes in terms of staffing and Circuit Leadership. Change in terms of how we work (hopefully more effectively) and where we work in this part of South Yorkshire. Change in terms of how we see ourselves. Give thanks for:

The privilege of having a part in the mission of God in this place.
A clearer vision of who we are and what we should be doing
All who serve the lord in a myriad of ways across our Circuit.
Those, in other Churches, and beyond, with whom we share in being carriers of grace.
The grace to change so that we serve this present age well.

Please pray for:

All our eyes to be opened to discern what the Lord is doing in our midst and in our communities:
Effective and clear witness to what we discern, empowered by the Spirit:
Wisdom in how to grasp hold of new opportunities/courage top take them:
Strength in continuing to press on with the vision articulated in our Mission Statement (June 2006):
Revs Peter Edwards and Jo Cox, along with students Jo Archer-Siddall and Darren Middleton who join the Circuit in September 2007.

We pray that the eyes of our hearts may be opened to see the hope, the grace, and the power available to us through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
