"Now there are different kinds of spiritual gift, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service in the church, but it is the same Lord we are serving. There are different ways God works in our lives, but it is the same God who does the work through all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church."(1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
Each day brings a new chance to serve you Lord. Show us how to make the most of the opportunities that will come our way today, to witness to your love. Amen.

Bolsover and Staveley Circuit (25/11): Superintendent Minister - Rev Gillian Robertson

We are a circuit of eleven churches, large and small, growing and declining in an area previously dominated by coal mining and chemical industry. The area is now green and there is a lot of new house building.

Give thanks for:

The way each church community has responded to the challenge and the rise of lay leadership:
The exemplary way in which the two supernumerary ministers have carried on the pastoral work and care;
The work and vision of the new Lay worker, Dave Presson and the contacts made in the community at Inkersall and Staveley:
The continuing new initiatives being made at Bolsover to enhance worship and deepen spirituality

Please pray for:

Those in leadership roles, especially the Rev Colin Barrick and his family, who joins this circuit and Worksop and Kiveton circuit this year, in a shared ministry:
The congregation at Staveley - that they will be eager to make the most of the opportunities that a Lay worker, working alongside them can bring:
For all the worshippers, young and old, that they may be inspired and encouraged by God's Holy Spirit:

Lord, as we dedicate ourselves and our church to you, help us to rejoice in the different gifts you have given us. With the help of your Spirit, we will use then wisely and well. Together we will be Christ's body in the world today, serving others with humility, enthusiasm and love. Lord we offer ourselves to you, help us to know and to do your will. Amen.
