Prayer Diary Introduction page

"Jesus himself came up and walked along with them ---. Then their eyes were opened and they recognised him ---. The he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures." (Luke 24:15b,31a,45)

On all the pathways of our lives you are the stranger walking beside us. With gentle persistence you press the conversation, urging us to tell and to hear too-familiar stories in new ways. And, in each other's telling, we catch your word as sudden recognition. Christ before us, Christ beside us, Christ between us, blessed are you in this moment and for ever. Amen. (Tony McClelland: 'Time to Talk of God')

Sheffield East Circuit (25/9): Superintendent Minister - Rev Elizabeth Wills

We are a diverse circuit to the east of Sheffield city centre, stretching from inner city areas around Park and Darnall, through the Manor estate and out to Handsworth, Woodhouse and Tinsley. We rejoice in the opportunities for learning and sharing offered by living amongst people of many cultures, countries and faiths and seek to discover God's presence in stranger and friend. In different ways each church is involved in finding appropriate ways of engaging with its local community, often in partnership with other Christian traditions of community groups.
