Help us, eternal God, to look around and find reason for praise; to be aware of opportunity and find reason to give thanks; to notice signs of need and be ready to respond; and to feel the pain of all and be there to help with love. Amen.

Sheffield Mission Circuit (25/2): Superintendent Minister - Rev Noel G Irwin

Victoria Hall Methodist Church is Methodism's city centre presence. Open from 8.00 am until 9.30 pm, it is a seven-day-a-week church which seeks to relate the Church and Gospel to the structures of the city and all who use the city centre. With its own programme and its building in constant use, it is a venue for numerous city-based organisations and societies.

Give thanks for:

The faithful witness of those whose continuing presence, unfailing prayers and ongoing financial support makes possible our mission.
The privilege of serving people in Christ's name in an ecumenical dimension shared with other city centre churches.
The regeneration programme which has made the city centre more attractive for business, leisure, tourism and a residential population.

Please pray for:

The Rev Noel Irwin and his ministry at the Victoria Hall as he continues his work in Sheffield.
The church as it seriously explores all possibilities to make the premises more suited for twenty-first century mission.
The more neglected and vulnerable individuals and groups who are to be found in the city centre and the agencies which seek to offer help.

Lord, may we live our lives that we do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with you. So may we seek first your kingdom and its righteousness, love you and our neighbours, and hold fast to those things which are good, true and eternal. Amen.
