The Methodist Church Sheffield District

supports people involved in formal education at all levels - staff and pupils in schools and colleges, staff and students in theological training institutions, Chaplains in Universities, Colleges, Hospitals and Schools and members of Standing Advisory Councils for religious education.

Methodist Junior Schools and School Visitors:

the District has special oversight of the three Methodist Schools in the District and receives termly reports from the School Visitors who provide a formal link between the Schools and the Methodist Church.

Chaplaincy Teams at Universities and Colleges:

a part-time Chaplain to work in the Chaplaincy Team at the University of Sheffield is appointed by the District. The need to encourage and support chaplaincy work at Sheffield Hallam University and at other colleges, hospitals and schools throughout the district is recognised.

Standing Advisory Councils for Religious Education:

the Church is keen to support the work of SACREs in the District and receives annual reports from Barnsley, Derbyshire, Doncaster, Nottinghamshire, Rotherham and Sheffield.
