It can be hard to take self-care seriously….but if we don’t find a way to build it into the midst of our busy lives, we can struggle.

Teresa Dickens will be back at Whirlow to run Adjusting the Balance, a workshop focused on the importance of Self-Care for those of us involved in caring for and supporting others.

Leadership can be a lonely and challenging place, it is true for all called to it but it is even more complex for women, who often juggle many conflicting expectations, feel discouraged and depleted and continue to lack confidence in their own abilities.

The course highlights the many strengths and gifts women bring to leadership, it affirms their unique styles and contributions, provides space to share stories and insights, as well as equips in practical and innovative ways to help women take their leadership to the next level and expand their capabilities. Designed for those in current lay leadership roles, or those aspiring to leadership in business, community or church settings.  Is the Certificate in Women in Leadership for you? Volunteer Opportunities

Rural Chaplains

The Derbyshire Rural Chaplaincy is a Christian ministry looking for volunteers that are passionate about reaching out to agricultural and rural communities in Derbyshire. We have various voluntary opportunities, however, at this time, we are ideally looking for authorised lay or ordained people to be rural chaplains with experience of leading worship and pastoral services, and providing ongoing pastoral care.

Rural chaplains proactively make contact with the agricultural community at Bakewell Livestock Market, agricultural shows, visit farms, and we coordinate a Harvest and Carol Service in the livestock market which, combined, attract over 900 people.

You will join an existing team of rural chaplains and other volunteers to work together in demonstrating Gods love. We particularly need more chaplains to cover North and North East Derbyshire, Amber Valley and South Derbyshire.

If you would like to know more about volunteer chaplain opportunities please get in touch with the Lead Rural Chaplain, Rev’d Alan Griggs on 07710 088972 or email: a.griggs@ruralactionderbyshire.org.uk
