District Advance Fund – Grants 2016/17

We make grants from our Advance Fund to support mission projects, property development and training in our circuits, churches and beyond. Applications for grants are considered in accordance with our Mission Policy

During the year ended 31 August 2017, we awarded the following Advance Fund grants to organisations:

Property grants

Hillsborough Trinity Methodist Church £25,000 – Phase 3 of Building For The Future project, redeveloping church premises  http://www.hillsboroughtrinity.org.uk/re-development.html

Hasland Methodist Church £8,000 – remodeling of worship area into flexible, modern and energy-efficient space http://www.chesterfieldmethodists.org.uk/hasland/

Castleton Methodist Church £3,600 – upgrading of kitchen facilities and lighting to improve usability for church groups and conferences https://www.peverilcentre.com/

Mission projects

Victoria Stafford Road Methodist Church, Sheffield £6,000 – Victoria Centre Manager, enabling the church to provide a home for a wide range of community organisations. http://www.victoriacentresheffield.co.uk/

Victoria Hall Methodist Church, Sheffield £9,000 – lay worker for Oasis: a fresh expression of community church https://www.victoriahallmethodistchurch.org/oasis

Castleton PCC, Hope Valley progression worker £20,300 – continuation of engagement of a Messy Church co-ordinator to work with churches, schools and communities in the Hope Valley. hopevalleymessychurch

 

We also made grants from other unrestricted funds in 2016/17 to Yorkshire Regional Training Partnership (£2,000), YorkshirePlus Joint Public Issues Team (£1,000) and Churches Together in South Yorkshire (£4,370).
