Whirlow Spirituality Centre – What’s On

Building work is expected to start here on January 8th, 2018 to be completed in preparation for our 60th Anniversary celebrations in September. There will be some changes to our programme as advertised for the January to April period.

February at Whirlow Spirituality Centre

Regular worship

  • 1st Sunday, February 4th. Reflective  Worship, 7 – 8pm
  • 3rd Sunday, February 18th. Reflective Communion, 7- 8pm
  • every Sunday. Space to Be (silent meditation), 830 – 915am
  • every Tuesday. Reflective Communion, 945 – 1030am

Tuesday Reflective Communion services will be held at All Saints, Ecclesall this month, due to building works. Sunday services will be unaffected.

Impossible Tales for Lent # 1 ‘Turning the Other Cheek’ – February 16th

The first of six. This lunch group will hear, reflect and discuss tales from Pete Rollins’ Orthodox Heretic, which uses Christian parables and familiar stories to unsettle and deepen beliefs that are often left unexamined.

12.30 – 1.30pm, £5 per session or £25 for all six. Full details and booking information on the website.

Praying Without Words – February 22nd
A group exploring the benefits and challenges of silent prayer

For anybody drawn to silent prayer, meditation or contemplation, this group will provide chance to practise, learn and explore questions such as: Am I doing this right? Nothing is happening, why bother? How can I stop my thoughts?

7.30 – 9pm. No charge, donations welcome. Prayer starts at 8pm. More details here.
