The Upper Thames Circuit and Highworth Methodist Church are seeking an enthusiastic and committed:

MISSION ENABLER

To commence duties from October 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. This is a new full-time position. The successful candidate will be a member of the leadership team of the church working with the minister and stewards to:

  • Develop discipleship and evangelism in the church and community
  • Identify and share outreach opportunities
  • Take the initiative in discipleship and mission with young people, working with and growing the existing team of volunteers
  • Work in partnership to explore and facilitate fresh expressions of what it means to be church.

The appointee will, by experience and action:

  • Demonstrate a personal faith in Jesus, a heart for evangelism and commitment to the values and ethos of the Christian life.
  • Be an enthusiastic, dynamic and caring person who can lead, work well as a member of a team and share your faith practically and through your encounters with others.
  • Identify the needs and assets of the church and local communities and seek to meet and deploy these.
  • Be a motivator, empowering, encouraging and enabling others and building relationships.
  • Be willing to work with other churches, church workers and organisations.
